Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards of falls: (a) Location - 1341 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA: On or about 05/03/06, employees were exposed to a fall hazard of up to 21 feet while washing windows from the roof top without fall protection. Among other and feasible means of abatement: 1) Perform an onsite hazard assessment of the project prior to the start of the project. 2) Supply employees with the proper length ladders to perform the job. 3) Ensure employees have the proper fall protection equipment prior to sending them to the job. 4) Train employees in the ANSI/IWCA STD I-14.1-2001.
