General-duty citation text
SCRR 71-112A: Failed to furnish a place of employment which is free of recognized hazards which may cause death or serious physical harm to his employees and comply with this regulation and other occupational safety and health rules and regulations promulgated under Chapter 15 of Title 41, Code of Laws, State of South Carolina, 1976, as amended, as follows: A. On or about March 3, 2006, employer knew or should have known that employees involved with critical lift of water tank, using a Terex T750 truck crane, Serial Number 750168, positioned on south side of the water tank, were exposed to the hazard of being struck by the falling water tank due to the total weight of the crane's load exceeding 70 percent of the rated capacity for the radius and configuration of the crane. A feasible and useful method to correct this hazard, among other methods, is to reduce the total weight of the crane's load not to exceed 70 percent of the rated capacity for the radius and configuration of the crane.
