SCRR 71-112A: Failed to furnish a place of employment which is free of
recognized hazards
which may cause death or serious physical harm to his employees and comply
with this
regulation and other occupational safety and health rules and regulations
promulgated under
Chapter 15 of Title 41, Code of Laws, State of South Carolina, 1976, as
amended, as
follows:
A.  On or about July 12, 2006, employer knew or should have known employee
operating
GMC boom truck, License Plate Number LR 5644, within 10 feet of overhead
power lines
(44,000 volts) were exposed to the hazard of boom truck contacting
overhead power lines
and being electrocuted.  A feasible and useful method of abatement, among
others, is to train
employees on dangers of overhead powerlines and to enforce prohibition of
operating boom
truck or similar equipment within 10 feet of overhead powerlines.
