SCRR 71-112A: Failed to furnish a place of employment which is free of recognized hazards which may cause death or serious physical harm to his employees and comply with this regulation and other occupational safety and health rules and regulations promulgated under Chapter 15 of Title 41, Code of Laws, State of South Carolina, 1976, as amended, as follows: A. Employer knew or should have known that employees being lifted to roof of building with unprotected edge, in excess of 35 feet high, by a Moffit Brand material boom mounted on a Volvo work truck, South Carolina License Number P33210, constituted a hazard of employees falling from the lift to the ground. Two useful and feasible methods, among others, to correct the hazard is to have the employees access the roof area from inside the building at the fourth floor or use ladders. B. Employer knew or should have known that the unbarricaded swing and lift area of a Moffit Brand boom lift mounted on a Volvo work truck, South Carolina License Number P332210, at rear of building, constituted a hazard of employees in swing and lift area being struck by falling materials being hoisted to roof. A useful and feasible method, among others, to correct the hazard is to barricade the swing and lift area prior to hoisting materials.
