Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
a)Death, heat, stress and bad odors (urine and smoke cigarrette), the
employees (Custody
Officials) were assigned to work inside the prisioners housing in 8 hours
each shift, at
the "Correctional Institution 384" in Sabana Hoyos among other methods one
feasible and
acceptable method to correct this hazard is that the employer establish
that
the employees
do not work the eight hour shift inside the prisioner housing.
a)Muerte, calor, estres y malos olores (orina y humo de cigarillo los
empleados oficiales
de custodia fueron asignados ha trabajar el turno de ocho horas dentro de
la vivienda de
los prisioneros (48 prisioneros) en la Institucion Correccional 384 en
Sabana Hoyos entre
otros metodos un metodo factible y aceptable para corregir este riesgos es
que el patrono
establezca que los empleados no han de permanecer su turno de ocho horas
dentro del
area donde conviven los prisioneros.

puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
At "Correctional Institution 384" in Sabana Hoyos, were found the
following hazards:
A) Employees (Custody Officials) were asignados to work inside the
prisioners housing in 8
hours each shift and ocasions to double shift with conditions of 48
prisioners at each housing,
exposed to heat, bad odors (urine and smoke cigarrette) and pinch trench,
to be held hostage and
violations.
B) Area Control Vehicular Gate were found an air conditioner system damage.
Among other methods one feasible and acceptable method to correct their
hazard is that the
employer stablish patrol to continuous watch inside the prisioners housing
to eliminate this
dagerous practice and fix or replace the air conditiones system.
Riesgos: Employees were exposed to respiratory illnesses tales como: asma,
bronquitis; cuts,
emotional stress and heat stress.
En la "Institucion Correccional 384" en Sabana Hoyos, se encontraron los
siguientes riesgos:
A) Empleados (Oficiales de Custodia) estaban asignados a trabajar dentro
de la vivienda de los
confinados en 8 horas cada turno y en ocasiones doble turno con
condiciones de 48 confinados
en cada vivienda, expuestos a calor, malos olores (orina y humo de
cigarrillos), heridas
punsantes, ser tomados como rehenes y violaciones.
B) rea de Control Porton Vehicular se encontro un sistema acondicionador
de aire danado.
Entre otros metodos un metodo factible y aceptable para corregir esos
riesgos
es que el patrono
establecer rondas de vigilancia continuas dentro de las vivienda de los
confinados para eliminar
esas practicas peligrosas y corrija, arregle o reemplace el sistema
acondicionador de aire.
Hazards: Empleados estaban expuestos a enfermedades respiratorias such as:
asma, bronchittis;
cortaduras, estresor emocional y estresor de calor.
