Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to struck by the equipment and eye strain

El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a ser golpeados por el equipo y a fatiga visual

At the project west side an employee was using an excavator Daewoo Solar
220LC - III. The
employer installed to the equipment a grid replacing the cab glass. The
grid had holes of 1"x
3/4" and it made difficult the visibility. One feasible and acceptable
abatement method to correct
this hazards among others could be install the manufacturing recommended
glass and remove
the grid.
En el lado oeste del proyecto un empleado estaba utilizando una excavadora
Daewoo modelo
Solar 220LC - III. El patrono le instalo al equipo una rejilla
sustituyendo el cristal de la cabina.
La rejilla tenia agujeros de 1" x 3/4" y dificultaba la visibilidad. Un
metodo factible y aceptable
para corregir estos riesgos entre otros podria ser la instalacion del
cristal recomendado por el
manufacturero y removerle la rejilla.
