Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:

El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
At Municipal Police Department in Municipio de Hatillo, there were
policemen that had been
unarmed. They had been in the police checkpoint area, without an armed
policeman constantly
present in the Municipal Police Department. The employees could need help
from an armed
policeman in case of exposure to any violent scene.
One feasible and acceptable abatement method among others, to correct this
hazard is to
maintain an armed policeman in the Municipal Police Department, while the
unarmed policemen
are performing their tasks in the police checkpoint area.
En el Departamento de la Policia Municipal en el Municipio de Hatillo,
habian policias
desarmados. Ellos han estado en el area de reten, sin policias armados
constantemente presentes
en el Cuartel Municipal. Los empleados podrian necesitar ayuda de un
policia armado en caso
de una exposicion a un escenario violento.
Un metodo factible y aceptable entre otros, es corregir este riesgo es
manteniendo un policia
armado en el Cuartel Municipal, mientras los policias desarmados realizan
sus tareas en el area
de reten.

El Municipio de Hatillo did not have a written protocol to handle domestic
violence in the
workplace, as required by Section 6(a) of Puerto Rico Occupational Safety
and
Health Act, Act
No. 16 of 1975.
Hazard: Fatalities, injuries, and illnesses related to domestic violence
in the workplace.
Method to abate the hazard: Develop a written protocol to handle domestic
violence in the
workplace and provide training to all the employees. Information is
available at the Women's
Advocate Office, A guide for Employers: Domestic Violence in the Workplace
and other
references provided during the inspection.
El Municipio de Hatillo no tenia un protocolo escrito para el manejo de
violencia domestica en
el lugar de trabajo., requerido por la Seccion 6(a) de la Ley 16 del 1975.
Riesgo: Muertes, lesiones, y enfermedades relacionadas a violencia
domestica en el lugar de
trabajo.
Metodo de correccion de el riesgo: Desarrollar un protocolo escrito para
el
manejo de casos de
violencia domestica y proveer adiestramiento para todos los empleados. La
