Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to strucks and contusion due lack of knowledge on the correct and
safty procedures of
equipment use.
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a contusiones y golpes debido a falta de conocimiento sobre los
procedimientos correctos en el
uso del equipo.
The employees were exposed to point of operation hazards, caught in or
between
hazards. The "Municipio de Utuado (Obras Publicas Municipal)" is being
cited by the
Section 6 (a) of the Act, by reference to ANSI Z245.1-1992 Section 6.1(a)
fundamental
requirements for refuse collecting and compacting equipment mounted on
refuse truck
chassis, which is a recognized standard industry practices, which provides
the Safety
Requirements for refuse collecting and compacting equipment
Three employees were dumping garbage in the Arecibo landfill and for that
they used a
truck trade mark International garbage packer truck, HP 3177. An employee
that was
removing part of the waste inside the container, get caught between the
tailgate and
loading hopper of the truck, when another employee activated the mechanism
to control
the gate  located in the front, next to the driver's door.
"Among other methods one feasible and available method to correct these
hazards is to
provide training and education to all the employees prior to working with
this type of
equipment.
Los empleados fueron expuestos a riesgos de punto de operacion, quedar
atrapados en
o entre.  El municipio de Utuado ( Obras Publicas Municipal) esta siendo
citada por la
seccion 6(a) de la ley, utilizando como referencia el ANSI Z245.1-1992
Seccion 6.1(a)
Requisitos Fundamentales para  los equipos de recogido y compactacion  de
basura
montados en chasis de camiones
Tres empleados estaban botando basura en el vertedero municipal de Arecibo
y para esto
ellos utilizaron un camion de recogido de basura, marca International-HP
3177. Un
empleado que se encontraba removiendo parte de los desechos, que quedaban
dentro del
contenedor quedo atrapado entre la compuerta y la base del camion, cuando
otro
empleado activo el mecanismo para controlar la compuerta localizada al
frente cerca de
la puerta del chofer.
Ademas de otros metodos un metodo factible y aceptable para corregir este
riesgo es
proveer adiestramiento y educacion a todos los empleados antes de comenzar
a trabajar
con este tipo de equipo.r
