Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
a.  At the residencial Public Housing Project, Leonardo Santiago, Juana
Diaz. Employees
were exposed to serious injury and death. They were subjected to  verbal,
physical
threats and harassed. The employer did not have a control plan to deal
with workplace
violence incidents. One feasible and aceptable abatement method to correct
these
hazards,
would be amonng others: to prepare a Control Plan of  workplace violence
that assess
and address: 1- Workplace violence hazards, such as harrass, verbal and
physical threat.
2- Records and incidents investigations of violence at the workplace. 3-
Employee
training of workplace violence issues. 4- Develope preventive and
implement corrective
actions, including counselling services to affected employee.
a.  En el proyecto de vivienda residencial publico, Leonardo Santiago,
Juana Diaz.
Empleados fueron expuestos a lesiones serias y a muerte. Ellos fueron
sujetos a amenazas
verbales, fisicas y hostigados. El patrono no tenia o proveyo un plan de
control para
bregar con violencia en el trabajo que evalue y trate :1- Riesgos de
violencia en el
trabajo, tales como hostigamiento, amenazas verbales y fisicas. 2-
Registro y
investigacion de incidentes de violencia en el area de trabajo. 3-
adiestramiento a
empleados sobre temas de violencia en el area trabajo. 4-Desarrollar
acciones preventivas
y correctivas, incluyendo servicios de consejeria a empleados afectados.
