Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
a. Receive serious injuries due employee falls caused by stormsashes
installation activities
at 21 feet in height from the ground level. Employees were using trestle
ladders on eaves
whose use is prohibited and they did not have fall protection system.
Among other
methods feasible and acceptable abatements method to correct this hazard
is
installation
of scaffolds for employees use.
a. Recibir serias lesiones debido a caidas causadas por actividad de
instalacion de
tormenteras a 21 pies de altura desde el nivel de la tierra.  Empleados
usando una
escalera tipo tijera en alero, cuyo uso esta prohibido y no tenian un
sistema de proteccion
de caidas. Entre otros metodos un metodo factible aceptable y posible para
corregir este
riesgo es proveer la instalacion de andamios para el uso de los empleados.
