Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: a. Receive serious injuries, due to failure in a electric mechanism hoist, model RRT, 3 ton., where were used by employees for materials handling. The hoist mechanism was not inspected. The hoist mechanism was located at the northeast side of building. Among others methods, one feasible and acceptable methods to correct this hazard is to performed periodic inspection as defined in ANSI B30.16-1973,Sec 16-2.2.1.3. a. Recibir lesiones, serias debido a falla en el mecanismo electrico de izar, modelo RRT 3 ton., donde era usado por empleados para el manejo de materiales. El mecanismo de izar no estaba inspeccionado. El mecanismo de izar estaba localizado en el noreste del edificio. Entre otros metodos un metodo aceptable y posible de corregir es realizar inspecciones periodicas, segun se define en ANSI B30.16-1973, Sec. 16-2.2.1.3.
