Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
a.  A teacher was exposed to receive injuries due to concrete portions
that could fell
down from the roof. The cracks are 2 feet long x 4 inches wide, and 3 feet
long x 4
inches (aprox.). Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable
abatement methot to
correct this hazard is refill the cracks with concreat mix. Room # 1002,
Mathematics
class.
a. Un maestro se estaba expuesto a recibir lesiones por pedazos de
concreto que se
desprenden del techo. Las grietas son de 2 pies de largo x 4 pulgadas de
ancho y 3 pies
de largo x 4 pulgadas de ancho.(aproximadamente). Entre otros metodos, un
metodo
aceptable y posible para corregir este riesgo es rellenar las grietas con
mezcla de
cemento. Salon # 1002, salon de matematicas.

puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
a. A teacher was exposed to receive injuries do to partial lack of
illumination in the
Special Education Class Room. There are 2.0-4.0 foot candle illumination
in the room.
The employer was be exposed to a tripping hazard and affected by eye
strain.
Among oher methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazard is changing all the four lamps to highs iluminations.
a. Un maestro fue expuesto a recibir lesiones debido a ausencia parcial de
ilumunacion
en el Salon de Educacion Especial. La iluminacion es de apenas 2-4 "foot
candles" en
el salon. El empleado estaba expuesto a caidas por tropiezos o a recibir
dano en sus ojos
al forzar la vista.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo aceptable y posible para corregir este
riesgo es
cambiando las cuatro lamparas por unas de mayor potencia.
