Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El
patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
a. Receive injuries, either physical or emotinally due to the lack be
information  or
training when the employees had to be submitted to a daily dog inspection
(Canine Unit
K-9) to detect narcotics or explosive substances. The employees do not
have any safety
knowledge of the different dog races, or any anormally conduct of the
animals, or if they
can bite due to  some kind of reactions or movements of the employee
during the
process. Some of the dogs race that can be in use are : Belgian Malinois,
German
Shepperd, Dutch Shepperd,Tervuren, "Labrador", Vizla. The dogs smell very
close to
the employee and in some ocations, they can come in contact with the
employees.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazard is to establish a semminary with the Dogs Instructor to all the
employees.
a. Recibir lesiones fisica o emocionalmente debido a la ausencia de
informacion o
adiestramiento cuando los empleados tienen que someterse a inspecciones
diarias por
parte de perros o canes (Unidad Canina K-9) para rastrear sustancias
narcoticas o
explosivas. Los empleados no tienen ningun tipo de conocimiento de las
diferentes razas
de canes, o de alguna conducta anormal de los animales, o  si ellos pueden
morder
debido a alguna reaccion o movimiento de los empleados durante el proceso.
Algunas de
las razas de canes que se pueden usar son: Belgian Melinois, German
Shepperd, Dutch
Shepperd, Tervuren, Labrador, Vizla. Los canes olfatean demasiado cercano
a los
empleados y en algunas ocasiones estos entran en contacto con los
empleados.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo aceptable y posible para corregir este
riesgo es
establecer un seminario o adiestramiento con el Instructor o Adiestrador
de los Canes
para todos los empleados.
