Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
a.  Receive injuries or death caused by equipment overturning while
operating unsafely
a roller compactor trademark Caterpillar model CS-533E at the edge of a
terrain being
compacted.  Among other methods, one possible and acceptable abatement
method to
correct this hazard is to provide specific training to the roller
compactor
operator related
to the correct handling and safety rules of the equipment according to
their manufacturer
recommendations when compacting is made at terrain edges and other unsafe
areas.
a.  Recibir lesiones serias o muerte causada por vuelco de equipo mientras
se operaba
inseguramente un rolo compactador marca Caterpillar model CS-5336 en el
borde del de
un terreno que estaba siendo compactado.  Entre otros metodos, uno
factible y aceptable
para corregir este riesgo es proveer adiestramiento especifico al operador
del rolo
compactador relacionado al manejo correcto y a las medidas de seguridad
del equipo, de
acuerdo con las recomendaciones del manufacturero cuando se compacta
terreno en los
bordes y otras areas inseguras.
