Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recog nized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to emp loyees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de e mpleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: a. Rec eive serious injuries as following: irritating eyes, skin, cough, chest pain, ab dominal pain, diarrhea, shortness of breath; due to in that employee were in con tact with mercury due to an spillage from a broken barometer (2 feet tall aprox. ) Employees were exposed to mercury poisoning. Among other methods one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to evaluate the work area, to realize an inventory of chemical and pr oviding a plan with action to avoid chemical spills in case of having, developin g a plan of action in case of happening a spill, to train the employees in the r isks of several chemical and forms to contains spills and/or equipment that cont ains this materials like own occupational risks of this ocupation. a. Recibir se rias lesiones como: irritacion de ojos, piel, tos, dolor de pecho, dolor abdomin al, diarrea, respiracion corta; debido a que los empleados estuvieron en contact o con mercurio debido a derrame por un barometro roto (2 pies de alto aprox.). E mpleados fueron expuestos a envenenamiento por mercurio. Entre otros metodos un metodo acepatable y posible para corregir este riesgo: evaluar el area de trabajo,realizar un inventario y proveer un plan de accion para evita r derrames n caso de haber quimicos, desarrollar un plan de accion en caso de qu e ocurra un derrame, adiestrar empleados en los riesgos de ciertos quimicos y fo rmas de contener derrames y/o danos de equipo que contengan este material como r iesgos ocupacionales propios de este oficio.

Employer DE Luis Munoz Marin High School did not have a written protocol to h andle domestic violence in the workplace, as required by the Act for the Impleme ntation of a Protocol to Handle Domestic Violence Situations in the Workplace or Place of employment, Act No. 217 of 2006 (for private and public employers, exc ept municipalities). Hazard: Fatalities, injuries and illness related to domesti c violence in the workplace. Method to abate this hazard: Develop a written prot ocol to handle domestic violence in the workplace and provide training to all th e employees. Information is available at the Women's Advocate Office, A Guide fo r employers: Domestic Violence in the Workplace and other references provided du ring the inspection. a. El patrono DE Escuela Superior Luis Munoz Marin no tenia un protocolo escrito para manejar violencia domestica en el lugar de trabajo co mo requerido por la Ley para la Implantacion de un Protocolo para Manejar Situaciones de Violencia Domes tica en el Lugar de Trabajo, Ley No. 217 de 2006 (para patronos privados y publi cos, excepto municipios). Riesgo: Fatalidades,lesiones y enfermedades relacionad as con violencia domestica en el lugar de trabajo. Metodo para corregir el riesg o: Desarollar un protocolo escrito para manejar violencia domestica en el lugar de trabajo y proveer adiestramiento a todos los empleados.
