Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: crushing hazards by not wearing the harness and lanyard while moving laterally on the Crown Model 30SP42TT Powered Industrial Truck (PIT): a)Cascade Windows, Nampa, Idaho: On or about July 5, 2007 and at times prior thereto, employees were exposed to crushing hazards by not wearing a harness attached to the retractable lanyards while the PIT was moving. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method is to enforce the recommended operating procedures listed in the operator's manual for the Crown PIT. Note: Abatement certification is required for this item.
