Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: long x 8" wide and the distance between each rung were 14"inches. A feasible way to correct this hazard could be among others: eliminate these modified homemade ladders by a warehouse type ladder with hand rails. Hazard: Falls a. En el estabblecimiento, Hermanos Santiago Cash & Carry, Ponce. Fue observado empleado apilando y/o moviendo mercancia a una altura de 7ft a 11 ft aprox. desde el piso usando un carro de mover mercancia modificado a una escalera. Empleado fue observado subiendo esta escalera, la cual las dimensiones eran 52" de alto, escalon media 15 pulgds. de largo x 8" pulgds. de ancho y la distancia entre cada escalon era de 14 "pulgds. Una manera factible de corregir este riesgo podria ser entre otros: eliminar esas escaleras modificadas "homemade"y reemplazarlas por unas escaleras tipo para almacen con pasamanos. Riesgo: Caidas:
