Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: a. Receive serious injuries such as: contution, fracture due to fall from freight van when employee was working moving it. The freight van was in the receipt merchandise area, and had 57 inches hight above lower level. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to provided the ladder to access. a. Recibir serias lesiones tales como: contucion o fractura debido a caida de vagon de mercancia cuando empleado estaba moviendola. El vagon de mercancia estaba en el area de recivo de mercancia, y tenia 57 pulgadas alto sobre el nivel mas bajo. Entre otros metodos, un metodo aceptable y posible de corregir este riesgo es proveer una escalera para accesar.
