Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: a. Receive injuries such as: fracture, amputation, etc. due to door malfinction safety switch from cardboard compactor used by employees, trademark Load King, Serial not visible. The machine was located in the warehouse aisles area. Among others method, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is not used the cardboard until the deffect was correct as recomended by the manufacture. a. Recibir lesiones tales como: fractura, amputacion, etc. por mal funcionamiento del dispositivo de seguridad de la puerta de apisonadora de carton usada por los empleados, marca Load King, Serie no visible. La maquina estaba localizada en el area de pasillos del almacen. Entre otros metodos, un metodo aceptable y posible de corregir este riesgo es no usar la apisonadora de carton hasta que el defecto se haya corregido segun recomendacion del manufacturero.
