Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: a. Receive injuries such as: fracture or contution due to failure in a two electric hoist mechanism, trademark Lodestar, 3 Ton. where were used by employees for up and down merchandize and garbage. The hoist mechanisms were not inspected. The hoist mechanisms were located in the receiving area of merchandise. Among others methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to performed periodic inspection as defined in ANSI B30.16-1973, Sec. 16-2.2.1.3., pag. 15. a. Recibir lesiones tales como: fractura o contucion debido a falta en el mecanismo electrico de izar, marca Lodestar, 3 Ton. donde era usado por empleados para subir y bajar mercancia, y basura. Los mecanismos de izar no estaban inspeccionados. Los mecanismos de izar estaban localizados en el area de recibo de mercancia. Entre otros metodos, un metodo aceptable y posible de corregir es realizar inspecciones periodicas segun se define en ANSI B30.16-1973, Sec. 16-2.2.1.3., pag. 15.
