Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to: Caught-In Between hazards.
a) Bagging Plant, located at 625 Mount Hope Road, Wharton, NJ
An employee was caught-in between the pallet elevator and stripping plates
of an
automatic palletizing machine.  The employer did not ensure that the
employee read the
operations and maintenance manual to become thoroughly familiar with the
meaning of
warnings and instructions.
Violation discovered on or about 5/23/06
AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT
METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS:
1. Provide an effective training program for the operator that includes
mandatory reading
and understanding of the operations and maintenance manual.ance
