Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards: a.On or about June 8, 2006, employees dismantling storage racks were not protected from falling by a guard rail system, safety net system, or personal fall protection system exposing employees to a fall of at least 9 feet. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement to correct this hazard, includes but is not limited to, the use of personnel lifts with the appropriate fall protection. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS NOT REQUIRED.
