North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to electrical hazards. a)establishment, kitchen meat preparation area - where equipment such as, but not limited to, a Hobart Chopper(model # 841810, serial # 11253419, 11.1 amps, 115 VAC) was plugged into a receptacle which was not equipped with a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). Abatement Note: One feasible and acceptable abate method, among others, to correct this hazard is to install Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters. [Reference: National Electrical Code 2005 Edition. NFPA 70, Article 210.9 (B)(2)]
