KRS 338.031(1)(a): The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees. a.In the aircraft maintenance department, employees are exiting the bucket (work platform) of the AB60J snorkel lift and climbing onto the surface of an aircraft to perform maintenance tasks while still being tied to the anchors on the basket of the AB60J lift which is contrary to the manufacturers recommendations. b.In the aircraft maintenance department, the AB60J snorkel lift was being used as a hoist or crane in direct conflict with the manufacturers recommendations and warnings concerning the proper use of the equipment.
