a)wood department - wood dust over approximately 1-inch thick has accumulated on horizontal surfaces including beams, ventilation and lighting fixtures due to poor housekeeping. One feasible and acceptable method of abatement, among others, to correct this hazard is for the employer to follow the procedures in the NFPA document 664, Standard for the Prevention of Fires and Explosions in Wood Processing and Woodworking Facilities. This document requires documented housekeeping and inspection programs to be developed and maintained.
