Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards
that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that
employees were exposed to a fall hazard:
A)749 U.S. Highway 202 Flemington, NJ: Gary Tallamy - General Contracting
employee was standing on a wooden pallet that was elevated by a manned
Gehl skid
steer loader at a height of greater than six feet above the ground below,
installing
insulation inside the overhang of a roof, exposing him to a fall.
Violation observed on
or about 10/25/06.
Abatement method: Among others, one suitable method for abating this
hazardous condition is:
1) Utilize only platforms designed for use in elevating personnel with
skid steer
loaders.  These platforms must meet the requirements set forth in ANSI/ASME
B56.1-1993.
2) Train all employees about the hazard of falls associated with improper
elevating methods, and the proper application and use of safety platforms.
This violation requires both certification and documentation as
appropriate proof
of abatement.
