Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious harm to employee in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards: Warehouse: Employees operating number Hyster forklifts 3 and number 7 were not provided with seat belts. Among Other Methods: One feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct the hazards is to: Install a seat belt retro-fit kit and require that a seat belt be worn when the truck is operated.
