Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious harm to employee in that employees were exposed to amputation hazards: Warehouse Yard:Employees were observed drop starting chainsaws. Specific abatement documentation required. Among other methods, one feasible and useful abatement method to correct the hazard is to: Train and enforce employees to start the chainsaw per the chainsaws owners manual.
