Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious harm to employee in that employees were exposed to frost burns and laceration hazards: Soft Serve Area: On May 3rd 2007, an employee assigned to clean the Taylor Soft Serve machine was not trained on the proper steps and techniques to clean and sanitized the machine. She suffered frostbite injuries when she reached into the machine and her hand froze to the machine. One feasible and acceptable method to correct the hazard is the provide training on the sanitizing methods and procedures to all employees assigned to clean the soft serve machine. Specific abatement documentation is required.tion
