Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of burns or explosions while operating an oxyacetylene burning outfit with out the use of flash back arrestor: (a) Location - Spark Street, Lowell, MA: On or about 08/25/2006, employees were exposed to burns and explosions while burning and cutting steel. Among other means,one feasible means of abatement would be to: 1. Install anti back pressure devices on the oxygen and acetylene lines per ANSI Z49.1
