Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Struck by hazard On or before 8/25/06, at the rebar yard, employees walking and working while forklifts were being driven through the area were exposed to a struck-by hazard. One feasible and acceptable method, among others, is to create safe zones where employees on foot must go to, and require the fork lift operators to observe the employees in these safe zones before a fork lift is moved. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
