Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Crushed-by hazard. On or about 11/1/2006, at 5500 State Road 7, an employee operating a Skytrak all-terrain forklift was exposed to a crushed-by hazard if the lift were to tip over. One feasible and acceptable method for abatement is to instruct the employee to always wear a seatbelt while operating the forklift. PLEASE NOTE: DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
