Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of falling or being crushed by a powered industrial truck: On or about 12/05/06, an employee was exposed to the hazard of falling or being crushed by powered industrial trucks while operating it without wearing the seat belt. Among other methods of abatement, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to prohibit employee from operating this type of equipment without wearing the seat belts. PLEASE NOTE: DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
