Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to falling from an unsecured ladder. On or about 02/14/2007, an employee was using a ladder that was not secured to access the top level of a shelf unit at 1090 NW 23rd Street, Miami, FL 33127. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to follow the Louisville Ladder manufacturer's safety manual. PLEASE NOTE: DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
