Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:01/10/07 Equipment:Non-pressurized Self-Contained Eyewash Condition:Where the employees are required to work with battery acid, a corrosive material, there was not a functional eyewash station present at the location to provide the employees with a continuous 15 minute flushing of the eye. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct the hazard is to install an eyewash that provides at least 15 minutes of flush.
