SCRR 71-112A: Failed to furnish a place of employment which is free of recognized hazards which may cause death or serious physical harm to his employees and comply with this regulation and other occupational safety and health rules and regulations promulgated under Chapter 15 of Title 41, Code of Laws, State of South Carolina, 1976, as amended, as follows: A. Employer knew or should have known that employees working around, near, or on two steam pipes, at areas such as, but not limited to, the EAV Utilities area, were exposed to the hazard of thermal burns from uncovered steam pipes. A feasible and useful means of abatement, among others, is to wrap the steam pipes with heat insulating materials. B. Employer knew or should have known that employees working around, near, or on steam pipes, at areas such as, but not limited to, the main steam supply for Reactor #1, were exposed to the hazard of thermal burns from uncovered steam pipes. A feasible and useful means of abatement, among others, is to wrap the steam pipe with heat insulating materials. C. Employer knew or should have known that employees working around, near, or on steam pipes at Trap 01-03 cylinder tank farm storage, next to the range shed, were exposed to the hazard of thermal burns from uncovered steam pipes. A feasible and useful means of abatement, among others, is to wrap steam pipes with heat insulating material. D. Employer knew or should have known that employees working around, near, or on steam pipes at PEA new hot box sump pump were exposed to the hazard of thermal burns from uncovered steam pipes. A feasible and useful means of abatement, among others, is to wrap steam pipes in heat insulating material. E. Employer knew or should have known that employees working around, near, or on steam pipes at areas such as, but not limited to, the east wall of Reactor #1 below the center exhaust fan, were exposed to the hazard of thermal burns from uncovered steam pipes. A feasible and useful means of abatement, among others, is to wrap the steam pipes with heat insulating materials.
