Section 5(a)(1) of the Occuational Safety and Health Act of 1970: On or about May 15, 2007, the employer did not furnish to each of his employees employement and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were casuing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by hazards when the drilling line guide would break and cause a whipping action. The employer failed to conduct a wire rope inspection prior to rigging up. One feasible and acceptable method, among others, is to correct this hazard is to: Change out the drilling line guide when not in use, that is not drilling, or tripping in or tripping out.
