Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of moving parts of machinery: a)The Wells horizontal band saw was not equipped with a magnetic restart or similar device, as prescribed by the American National Standards for Metal Cutting Saws, ANSI B11.10-1990, Section 5.2.3.4, that in the event of an interruption in the electrical supply would prevent the saw from re-starting automatically when power is restored. Among others, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to provide a magnetic restarter or similar device as required by ANSI B11.10-1990.y
