Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard: a)On or about 11/6/07, employee operating the Hi-Ranger articulating aerial device (bucket truck) Model 5FI-52PBI, Serial Number 8853364001, was exposed to a fall hazard from potential boom failure due to the lack of proper maintenance and inspections. One feasible means of abatement to correct this hazard include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Inspect, maintain, and overhaul the Hi-Ranger Model #5FI-52PBI, following the manufacturer's operator and maintenance manual which outlines the procedures and intervals required. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
