Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to:
(a) In the service department of Fargo Tire Service, Inc. for employees
working around
and under the two-post hydraulic auto lift where the annual inspection,
preventative
maintenance program, and employee training were not implemented.
Abatement Note:
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement would
be to
follow the requirements of ANSI/ALI ALOIM-2000 and ANSI B153.1 which
includes,
among other requirements, the following:
1.  Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program according to
the
manufacturer's specifications.
2.  Schedule and complete all periodic and annual inspections.
3.  Provide employee training on the proper safe use and care of auto
lifts.
