Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to fire and explosion hazards: a)On or about April 18, 2007, and at times prior, employees in the maintenance shop were not protected from fire and explosion hazards where rags and other debris with oil and grease residue were not disposed of in a metal container with a lid. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to obtain a metal can with a lid to be used for waste contained oil and grease residue. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to shock hazards: a)On or about April 18, 2007 and at times prior, employees in the plant were exposed to shock hazards where on the west side of the plant at the base of the silos and hoppers, live electrical conductors were not guarded. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to repair the junction boxes that should contain the conductors or de-energize electrical equipment that is not in use. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").-Certification

Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to install protective covers over the lights. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").
