Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:02/16/07 Location:West Side of Shop - Next to Welding Operation Equipment:Berkeley Haws Eye Wash/Body Shower Condition:Employees had potential exposure to sulfuric acid and eyewash facilities did not have an adequate water flow and was not capable of flushing the eyes adequately. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to restore sufficient water volume flow to adequately flush eyes and implement a scheduled inspection and designate an employee responsible to perform the task and document activity.
