Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that an employee was exposed to a potential electrocution hazard: a) Alligator Alley, St Cloud, FL - An employee was exposed to electrical hazards while using a citrus ladder. The employee was using an 18 foot metal citrus ladder near a 20 foot high 14,400 volt power line. Among other methods, one means of feasible abatement would be use a non-conductive ladder when working near power lines, as referenced by American National Standard for Ladders- Portable Metal - Safety Requirements ANSI A14.2 1990, 8.3.8, electrical hazards.al
