T.C.A. 50-3-105(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: In that PVC pipe was being used to transport compressed air throughout the facility. The compressed air was used to power staple guns. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install pipe that is specifically designed for compressed air systems, such as certain types of ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) pipe.
