What this inspection record means

OSHA opens inspections for many reasons — routine scheduling under a national or local emphasis program, an employee complaint or referral, or a follow-up after a reported injury. Opening or conducting an inspection is not itself an allegation or a finding that this employer broke any rule; any findings appear as the citations listed below, and citations can be contested, reduced, or withdrawn.

a. Jobsite: Twin Oaks Terminal, Aston, PA.- On or about February 26, 2007
an
employee driver was exposed to a fall hazard over 8.5 feet when engaged in

descend. The
driver was walking on the trailer's deck (platform) that did not have a
standard

b. Jobsite: Twin Oaks Terminal, Aston, PA.- On or about March 16, 2007 an

feet) when
engaged in the task of loading vehicles on a trailer (8527) while walking

covered platform that did not have standard railings.
ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other means of abatement, one feasible and
acceptable means of abatement would be to implement the following process:
(1) Eliminate the fall hazard of loading and securing vehicles and
descending from
the decks by using a trailer that allows vehicles to be loaded and secured
from
nearly
ground level.
(2) Equip trailers with guardrails. For those trailers that do not have
side rails
available, equip them with side rails to access the fixed ladders on the
top decks.
NOTE: ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED.
