31-372-101 Section 31-370(a) of the Connecticut Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that an employee was exposed to the hazards of falling from equipment not designed by the manufacturer for riding while the machine was in operation/moving: Location: A)Riverside Road (on the street). 1)An employee was riding on the side of a wheel loader not designed by the manufacturer as a riding position for personnel. Feasible Methods of Abatement. a)Develop, implement and enforce a written policy that prohibits employees from riding on equipment not designed for personnel. b)Train employees on written policy.
