31-372-101 Section 31-370(a) of the Connecticut Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to vehicular traffic: Location: A)Route 178/189 (Intersection). 1)Employees engaged in power sweeping operations were exposed to vehicular traffic and a proper traffic control pattern/zone in conformance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) was not used. Feasible methods of abatement: Familiarize / retrain all employees on the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control devices (MUTCD) including but not limited to: a)Training, information and site specific protocols for the purpose and proper use of traffic control devices (traffic cones, signs, barrier trucks, flagman, flow patterns, lane closures etc.).es
