employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to the hazard of falling from the Snorklift:
On or about 4/18/08, employees of Hagerty Steel & Aluminum Company were
exposed to a 20
foot fall hazard in that employees would attach their harness and lanyard
to the basket instead
of the Safety Belt Loop attachment point on the Snorklift UNO-33E aerial
lift.  The basket had
broken welds in several places.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is
to:
1.Follow the manufacturers Operation and Maintenance Manual on where to
attach their
harness and lanyard.
2.Comply with ANSI A92.5-1992, Section 4.11.5 Attachment point(s) and
Section 6.10
Operator training.
