Instance - An employee was standing on the side section mid-rails while
installing metal
studs; thus being exposed to a fall of approximately 10 feet to the
concrete floor below.
A feasible means of abatement would be to comply with the American National
Standards Institute, ANSI A92.6-1999 Standard for Self-Propelled Elevating
Work
Platforms, Section 8.10(9) entitled Operator Warnings And Instructions
which states
"Personnel shall maintain a firm footing on the platform floor while
working
thereon" and "Climbing by occupants on the mid-rail or top-rail of the
aerial
platform is prohibited".
