Condition:Employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by and/or
crushed by an
electric/hydraulic-powered automotive lift that was operated by personnel
who were
not trained in the safe operation and use of lift equipment.

Location:Outdoor Vehicle Lift Area
Equipment:Unknown In-Ground Automotive Lift
Condition:Employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by and/or
crushed by a
pneumatic/hydraulic-powered automotive lift that lacked an operators
manual, was
operated by personnel who were not trained in the safe operation and use
of
lift
equipment, and was not removed from service when the lift was found to be
in an
unsafe condition and in need of repair.
Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs,
training certification, etc.)
is required for this item.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct these hazards is to comply
with ANSI/ALI ALOIM-2000 Automotive Lift Institute Standard for Automotive
Lifts - Safety Requirements
for Operation, Inspection, and Maintenance.
